King Kalala Welcomes Her First Child, Shares Newborn Photo

NAIROBI — Kenyan content creator and media personality King Kalala (real name Prudence Chepkirui Tonui) has announced the birth of her first child, sharing a tender photo of the newborn on Instagram on Monday, October 19, 2026.

In the post on her verified account @king.kalala, Kalala captioned the image: “I’m coming to you as a mother 🥺🥺 #longlivetheklan.” The close-up showed the baby swaddled in a white blanket and wearing a white hat with colourful polka dots. She kept the baby’s name, gender and other details private, consistent with her relatively low-profile approach to personal matters.

The announcement comes roughly three months after she publicly revealed her pregnancy on July 21, 2026, in a playful Instagram Reel that quickly went viral. In the clip, she joked about fans noticing changes in her appearance — particularly her nose — before lifting her top to show her baby bump. She followed it with the now-famous line: “LONG LIVE THE KLAN! +1! Hata simba hupatikana.”

Known for her outspoken commentary on relationships, women’s independence and social issues, as well as her earlier work as a radio presenter, Kalala has built a large following around an unapologetic persona. The transition into motherhood has drawn widespread congratulations from fans and fellow creators, many of whom echoed her signature “Long live the Klan” greeting.

Born in 1998 and raised in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, Kalala rose to prominence through digital content and has continued to engage audiences with humour and candidness. She has not yet shared further details about the newborn or her partner. The birth marks a new chapter for the creator, whose fans have followed the pregnancy journey since the July reveal.
