Stevo Simple Boy Announces Breakup with Brenda After DNA Test Shows He Is Not Father of Dragon Jr
Nairobi — Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has announced the end of his relationship with his partner Brenda after DNA test results confirmed he is not the biological father of their son, Stephen Otieno Junior, popularly known as Dragon Jr.
In a public statement issued on Tuesday, the musician said the results had been difficult to process. “Following the DNA test results, I wish to officially announce that Brenda and I are no longer together as a couple. The results have been difficult to process, but I have chosen to handle this matter with dignity and respect for everyone involved,” he wrote. He asked fans and the public to respect his privacy and thanked Microafia Healthcare for conducting the test.
The announcement follows months of public speculation. Stevo and Brenda, who welcomed Dragon Jr in November 2025, had previously separated in early 2026 before reconciling around August. The relationship faced renewed scrutiny in September after Stevo’s former manager, Geoffrey Machabe, publicly claimed he was the child’s biological father and alleged that Stevo and Brenda had never been intimate. Brenda had denied any romantic involvement with Machabe, describing their connection as strictly professional related to managing Stevo’s career.
Stevo, known for hits including “Freshi Barida,” has not named the biological father in his statement and has not indicated any further steps regarding the child’s care. The development has drawn widespread attention across Kenyan entertainment circles, with many fans expressing surprise at the DNA outcome after the couple’s public family appearances over the past year.
Neither Brenda nor Machabe has issued a public response to the latest DNA confirmation and breakup announcement as of Tuesday evening.
