Ndindi Nyoro Engages Kangema Residents in Public Outreach Ahead of 2027 Elections

Murang’a, November 4, 2026

People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) leader and Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro on Wednesday held a public engagement with residents of Kangema Constituency at the Kangema Empowerment Hall as part of ongoing grassroots outreach ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Nyoro, who formally left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and joined the opposition earlier this year, addressed residents under the PPK banner, whose slogan is “Sauti ya Wakenya” (The Voice of Kenyans). In a post on X shortly after the meeting, he described the engagement positively: “Kangema was excellent. Asanteni sana Wadosi wetu wa Kangema. People’s Party | Sauti ya Wakenya. We are African, and Africa is our business.”

The Kangema stop formed part of a series of meet-the-people forums in Murang’a County on the same day. Earlier, Nyoro had engaged residents at Kiriaini Catholic Hall in neighboring Mathioya Constituency. Local media outlets, including K24 and People Daily, shared images of the packed hall sessions, showing Nyoro interacting with constituents.

The outreach comes as Nyoro intensifies nationwide mobilization for the People’s Party of Kenya while working with other opposition leaders. He has consistently called for opposition unity behind a single presidential candidate to challenge President William Ruto in 2027, while also outlining policy priorities that include free basic education (including meals) from January 2028, improved healthcare access, economic recovery, and greater transparency in public resource management.

Nyoro has previously pledged to support whichever candidate the united opposition settles on as flagbearer and has been conducting similar engagements across different counties. His activities in his Mount Kenya backyard underscore efforts to consolidate support in the region while expanding the party’s reach beyond traditional strongholds.

The 2027 General Election is scheduled for August, with political realignments and grassroots campaigns already underway across the country.
